Tranny / Long-Block Swapping
I been searching this on HT for a few days now.....
.....and it seems that H & F motors/trannys are interchangeable.
Is this true?
I have a 92 LX, automatic.
I know a H23 swap fits right in, staying automatic.
My question is, if the above is true, will my F22A tranny bolt up to a H23 long-block with no problems? On a budget so, saving bucks on a tranny would be huge. My main problem will be finding a H23 AT ECU.

It is true....the f series has longer gears, but h23 and no vtec you will be ok.....how many miles on your existing tranny? If its high you may want to save yourself the trouble and either rebuild it or get a used one (via junkyard) or someone selling in classifieds. Good luck...and I take it your planning for boost?
Car is all original/stock @ 98,000 miles. And I'm the 2nd owner.
Bought it from an Acura dealer. The original owner was an older lady, that lived in a very rich neighborhood. Aveage miles driven per year was 8500.
Go the Accord and Lo Jack for $5000.
I've been wanting to get a H23 long-block from http://www.hmotorsonline.com since I bought car. Just wasn't sure if I had to find an H AT tranny or not.
Good to know I can still use mine. Thanks.

Ok, I went to 2 shops yesterday to get more info on dropping a H23 block.
Both shops said, you can't use a F series tranny on a H series block.
Has anyone here actually done this?
I don't wanna pay money in labor just to find out I won't have a car until a tranny is found. This is my daily driver, so it's gotta be a 8 hour or less job with all required parts in our hands.

Many guys there are swapping in the H series longblock and using the f series tranny. If you're on a budget, it's the way to go Cory.

Sweet link! I saw enough people on there with H23 trannys on their F22 blocks to believe 100% now.
My project has now begun:
- H23 Long-Block
- F22 Automatic Tranny
- OBX Short Ram Intake
- Car Sound Catalytic Converter
- Custom Stainless Steel Exhaust B Pipe
- Remus Sport Axle-Back Exhaust
The car is 100% stock right now.
Anything else you guys recommend during the swap, other than timing belt, tensioner, water pump, and fluids?

I wouldn't even go to the shops I went and talked to for labor work anyways. They were both within 15 minutes to me, so I thought I'd ask.
I drive around 1 hour away to get my car worked on.
