Obd0 to Obd1 wiring?
Does anyone have a write up on how to do this. I have all the needed parts, dizzy, 4 wire O2 sensor, Ecu, and I am about to order the harness the company I went through before lost my harness. I just need to know what exactly I have to do as far as wiring goes? How long should this process take me?
Thanks.
Thanks.
It all depends on how you decide to wire it up.
With an ECU jumper harness, the installation is really simple. It's all a matter of the new O2 sensor, and any distributor wiring changes. Also, each conversion harness is different! Follow the instructions to the dot given by the manufacturer of your specific harness! Other instructions might not work for your harness..
Now, the wiring should only take a couple hours if you know where you're going to route the new wires, and if you don't run into any complications.
Personally, if I were to do it again. I would start out by just plugging in the new conversion harness and the new ECU in. The rewire the new OBD-1/2 distributor and start it up. Even though you have the VTEC and 4-wire O2 components uninstalled, the car will still start up with a CEL - you should be able to rev past 3.5k. <--- All of this is to just verify that the harness works, and the dizzy wiring is correct. Once you have all of that squared away, add the new o2 sensor w/wiring, and then add the VTEC wires.
It's easier to make your additional wiring BEFORE you actually start working on the car (like inside, where it's warm!).
