1989 crx hf idle surge with stock motor but defroster will stop surge for 3 -4 mins? Help!!!

1989 crx hf idle surge with stock motor but defroster will stop surge for 3 -4 mins? Help!!!

K I bought this car like last month and I havent got it though inspection yet. I need to before I put my b18c1 in so please help me out. The car will surge between 1000 - 1500 rpms at idle and when i get on the gas it is fine. If I turn on the rear defroster the car will start to idle normal for about 3 - 4 minutes then the surge will begin again. What should I check first? I need to get this fixed quick as possible.

ps also what front spindles do i need to put the b18c1 into a crx...i dont know what kind to look for?

Check IACV valve
Check to see if throttlebody is gumed up
Check antifreeze..
