Default Injector question?

I was thinking about my recent troubles with my motor not running properly, when it came to me, I never really knew where my injectors came from. They were given to me by a person who's opinion and expertise i respect, and told that they were b16 injectors, but i saw him fish them out of a box of injectors and other misc stuff? My question is this, if for some reason thet were differnt, or not all the same, woulf the car still run? And if they were the wrong ones, would it cause the motor to have absolutly no power and excessive fuel consumption? The car would idle okay, not good, but okay! and when you opened the throttle, it would not climb in rpm's very fast? And like i said, it had no power? And it was running very rich from what i could tell?

*Edit: oh my bad, for some reason I thought you were asking about B series injectors on a D series motor. Must have been someone elses post fresh in my memory.

Yes, the symptoms you described could be caused by bad/clogged/incorrect injectors.

I suggest sending them off for injector cleaning service. I sent mine to RC, with shipping it came out to $107 and I had them back in 4 days. They can both identify the injectors for you, and bring them back to new/better than new performance. This opposed to buying new aftermarket injectors for over $100 each. In the meantime, you can pick up some junkyard injectors for about $25 to keep you on the road.

When an injector sits unused for a period of time, they tend to become clogged. That's probably what happened to your injectors to begin with.

most likely you have a mixup of peak and hold type and saturated injectors. it will cause your car to run but not to its fullest.

Almost exactly as stated in a prior post; I picked up a set of "questionable" injectors for a GSR motor that I'm putting together. I took them to RC Engineering (it's not too far of a drive and I like seeing who I'm dealing with).

They took them into the back (I went with them) and tested them out real quick to see if they were working. They have a fixture where they run a fluid that has the same specific gravity as gas through them.

I had them clean them and send them back to me. I got them back in about three days.

When the clean them, they also bead blast the outside and clear coat the metal body so that they don't rust.

Included in the package is an information sheet showing both the before and after flow rates and patterns. COOL!

The cost including shipping was $102.00

What was real nice was that they didn't try to sell me something that I didn't need.

I think this could have been my problem!
