Need help!! Regarding cat and car stopping. **URGENT**
Ok guys/girls here is the thing. My friend Steve has a 00 s2k and just today he was driving to work and while going the speed limit maybe 10 above his car just died and every light in his dash goes off.
Now he has run his car open cat for a while ( 3-4 months) but this he had his stock exhaust on. When his car died he took it to Right hand Honda. They were ******** to him and treated him like **** not offering a loaner or even a shuttle ride to his work.
They told him he blew up his cat.
Is it possible to have blown up the stock cat while running the stock exhuast make the car to die and not start back up again?
Also how long ( inchs) is the cat. If the cat is dead I might just get a universal cat for the time being until we can find him a new stock cat.
Any help and information is appreciated guys, and I need help asap. The shop where I can get the universal cat from closes in 1.5 hrs and if honda keeps his car over night they will rape him in charges. Thanks guys.

that would be an interesting sight to see a cat blow up, I mean, they are cute things aren't they?
Honestly, your friend needs to find out what the problem is by checking for any codes if there are any from the check engine light. My guess is whatever he was doing or modified his exhuast, he probably toasted or messed up the secondary o2 sensor wires. If they touch eachother or the body of the car with the insulation gone or burnt up, fuses will be blown. It happens that the fuse for the secondary o2 sensor heater is the same as the altenator and a few other things.
It's really hard for anyone behind a computer to diagnose a problem this way.
