5th gen DIY fogs???
Ok, ive heard of a few people doing this, and i was wondering how much work it entails besides spicing wires......swaping the front bumper blinkers w/ the corners....as in, making the corners act as a blinker, and then putting in higher output bulbs in the bumper as a driving/fog light.....anyone ever heard of it.....???
Here is a write up for a 4th gen, should be the same: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/sh...=1917 and it includes if you want a functional bumper light or a solid one too...hope it helps.
Edit: Also if you scroll down to the bottom it explains for 5th gens and the use of a dual filament bulb. And I know a lot of people use 92-95 civic corner housing due to its a dual filament housing which will prevent melting.

i did that to my 4th gen...be careful..most of the time the bulbs get too hot and they melt the inner housing of the signal light...it does look tight though..but from my experiences the housing melted inside....

I've got that done on my 4th gen and noticed that the housing gets melted, but that was when i was using clears and those hyper white bulbs with higher watts. But since then i went back to stock bottom ambers with oem bulbs it hasn't melted. *knocks on wood* I think it depends just on the wattage of the bulb.

Generally those aftermarket bulbs use higher wattages thus increase operating tempurature.....anyone do the 92-95 civic conversion and will this work for 4th and 5th gens?
your corner lights allready act as a blinker.. they blink. Dont worry about that. Your gonna have to use clears on the bottom if you want to make them fog lights.. But I hear they melt.. So what I would suggest is actually buying some aftermarket foglights.

The corner lights do not blink on the 5th gens.

I guaran-*******-tee you they do.. at least mine do.. 5th Gen cd5.. I just checked in the parking lot.. they sure do. .. They have 2 bulbs on each corner.. why do you think they have two.. and also.. the oem corners have orange on them.. which means they are used as a blinker.
And also NTM that if you view your car from the side the bumper light if flashing you won't be able to see due to its flat not rounded, hence the OUTSIDE corner bulbs necessity. So I have a question *raises hand* how did you get a 194 bulb into your bumper housing?? Please list mods.

no, theyre orange because in the US, all cars must have an orange colored side marker in teh front, and a red in the rear.....once again, if anyone has done this to a 5th gen, specially a 94-95, is it worth it....cause real fogs can cost a pretty penny

Just tried it now....the 97 corners don't blink only the side markers blink (ones inside the bumper)....these side markers are orange which is why they are used as the turn signal and not the corner ones of the headlight
