my speedometer doesn't work. i've got a 91crx si. my computer trouble codes are pullin up 17 & 3 . thats my speedometer and my map sensor. ive got an 97 ex head. what could it be?

 

check your speedo cable, it's most likely unhooked. The map could be a vacuum line not hooked up.

 

make sure the speedo cable is physically in the tranny, they have tiny notches on the end and sometimes when people do engine swaps they dont knwo how to put them in properly, that should solve your speedo problem, pm me if you still cant get it to work

Why not get on the rpm/mph calculator and punch in different speeds like the ones neccessary. 15, 25, 35, 45, 65, 125. And get the correct rpm speed and then tape that on the dashboard and go off of the rpm's gauge. Thats what I do.

check that your cable is either well hooked, or is phisically ok, not broken or something.

it happened to me b4 also.

 

ok well heres what i did i know how fast im going cause i did figure out the speed equations and it does work.. for now. but i need it for 60-0 times and all that gushy stuff. i lifted it up on a hoist looked at the cable and its a snug fit in the tranny. also do any of u know how i got the vtec to work on my mini swap? d16a6/y8 head . maybe that could be the reason? anyone else do this to there car? i need some good advice.
