Hi, can any of you guys tell me what the CWest bodykit for the 1998 Civic Hatch is made from? I am looking to buy it from Japan, but want to know if they are strong.

Don't know much about its strength but I'm a HUGE hater of bodykits but the c-west for that year civic is the ****. Only one I would ever own but I would never buy it.

Too much money and it will look great when you first put it on, then many daily drives later, it as well as every other daily drivien car with a body kit will look like ****. Paint scratches, chips, chunks missing cause too low etc....

 

Most of the time fiberglass but sometimes Poly Urethane. Are you looking for the original original or a replica c-west?

 

my buddy had a origanal c-west from japan on his rx-7 and it was made of fiberglass. and very strong good quility

 

I am looking at the original CWest. There is lots of companies doin replicas but they are of poor quality/material. I have managed to find a UK reseller of CWest, hopefully they will be cheaper then importing it myself from Japan.

I have also recieved a reply mail from CWest themselves in Japan, they said,

Thank you that you are interested in our products.
We have the body kit for EK9.
Those are made from Fiberglass called FRP.
And we also made from soft and flexible material called PFRP.
PFRP means pliable FRP.

What is FRP and PFRP and are they any good?

The cwest kits are made of 5 hand layed layers of fiberglass. The have an excelent fit and finish.

 

I have read about their flexible fiberglass. supposed to make it quite a bit more durable. bodykits are a waste for a street car.

Thanks for all the help guys. There apparently are two types of Front bumper they look exactly the same one is lighter, thinner and more costly and the other is a heavier stronger item.

Mine is used for Street/Shows, only do about 6,000miles a year. So going to look to get the stronger bumper.
