well today i was cruisin along thinkin "damn i wish my clock worked, its just so ugly sittin there not displaying anything" then BOOM!!! i had an idea, id been contemplating putting in a vtec light somewhere alternate to the cluster and i had an idea to pull the guts out of the clock, get VTEC written on a sheet of plastic at office max or what ever, mount a led behind it. then my broken clock looks becomes a custom vtec light, i think it'd be pretty nifty. what do you guys think?? oh yeah by 'vtec light' i mean hookin it up to tha solenoid so it only turns on when vtec engages

 

i think it would work provided you have a bright enough light. I am thinking of putting in a VTEC light somewhere but to lazy to do it so far.

sounds like a good idea to me. but you should make it say vtech y0 instead. even if it doesn't work who cares... your clock doesn't work anyways. go for it

If you can do it then more power to you but don't you think you'll get annoyed after while to just keep seeing that thing light up?

I kinda agree. Forget VTEC light...do you already have a shift light? I can feel and hear when i hit VTEC, so putting in a light to tell me would be pointless. But as stated earlier, do what you want. If you like it, do it.

Hmm - wow the thread has been positive so far ohtel. If you really want to be creative make one that says VTEC OFF that lights up when not enganged - that way u wouldn't burn the bulb out so soon.

pS: Don't burn the plastic

 

I would just buy a new clock. I would rather hear Vtec.

On the positive side, little things like that can be cool as long as they are done well.

 

How about one that says "Power windows".
Then any time you roll your windows up or down, it lights up!!!!
