Default Follow up on my stolen CRX

As was posted a while back by Outsane, my car was stolen from my driveway. After a little less than two weeks, the thieves were seen stealing mail while driving my car. they were apprehended when one of the residents reported the crime, and my car was recovered with various damages (door locks, ignition, sunroof broken, stolen speakers, random interior pieces, and paint scratches). I went and got an estimate for the damages - totalling $4105.60 - way over the KBB value for the car. to my suprise, yesterday at the restitution hearing I was awarded the full amount. I don't know if I'll ever see that money - but technically they have to pay it. It also makes me feel much better that both are currently in jail. I'm not sure how much time the "driver" of the car is serving, but I know the passenger is serving 4 months. just thought I'd keep you guys updated.

That's justice. Glad to hear it. Hopefully you'll see a good amount of that money and remember...paint doesn't make a car go fast.

you should sell your winnings to one of those companys that pays you up front and then takes over collections of the debt. you would get substatial amount less but it beats 50 bucks a month or whatever these guys have to pay.

Its a good idea but how soon will those criminals have that kind of cash. I have a judgement out on a guy who totaled my accord and even though we were awarded almost 3000 I have yet to see a dime since this fool doesn't work and spends more time in jail then on the street. I thought those companies dealt with large settelments like lotto winnings and large lawsuits.
