Curious... how much can I get for my GSXR1000?
As the title says, I'm just trying to 'test the waters' right now.
I am thinking about getting rid of the bike without even riding it around for more than an hour. I found a great deal on a race car, and I don't want to pass it up.
What would you guys pay for a bike like this?
'01 GSXR-1000
11,000 miles
Blue/white
new front fork seals
brand new clutch in box (clutch in the bike doesn't even need replacement yet, just planned ahead)
frame sliders
Yosh TRS carbon fiber slip on
Brand new Pilots (both front and rear)
great condition. Well cared for by a very experienced rider. no flaws.
Bike was down once due to a small child running out in front of the previous owner. It was at about 4 mph. (pulling up to a stop sign.)
Let me know what you all think? I don't have pics right at the moment, but if I can actually get a camera, I'll be sure to post them.

I have 5K for it, but I think you can get more. Good luck on the sale, if you really want to sell it, "I'm a sucker for a good deal". In all honesty I think you can get 6-7k for the bike.
it'll have a lot to do with where you live. Around here that is pretty high mileage for a bike since our riding season is only about 3 months. And it has been down.
4-6k IMO.

You'll get from $5-6500. I've sold two '02 gixxer1k's both with under 5,000 miles, clean titles, and tons of mods for around $7,000.
how popular are those bikes in LA?
reason I ask, you rarily see a liter gixxer around here, much less a hayabusa, or RSC. all these bikes are kinda rare to see. Would that possibly play to my advantage?
Like I said guys, just testing the waters right now. Finally got to ride it today with the weather being about 45 degrees, it's a lot of fun, didn't even need to romp on it at all, just nice to drive around.

It all depends on your location.Down here in georgia eveyone is waiting on the 04 to arrive. So the dealers are practically giving away 03 gix 1000.The lowest price i have seen for a new one is 8499.00 and this is OTD.The 03 gix 750 is 7700.00 and the 03 gix 600 is 5899.00.So as you can see it all depends on your location.Part of the reason they are so cheap in georgia is know one wants the 1000.

Sorry, I'm not in the market to buy one right now, and when I am, I will be shopping for a '02/'03 bike.
I was just giving you an idea ($.02)

Whew, good. I finally got to ride a couple days ago for about an hour and a half before my hands froze up. It was an absolute blast!
So my next question is... with 11,000 miles, what service should be done to the bike in preparation for a full season of riding? I am super noob to maintenance on a bike, so what things should I be looking to get done to the bike to make sure it's reliable? THe suspension has been refreshed with new seals and such all around, not sure when the last time the chain was greased, but for the motor what needs to be done (if anything?)
THanks guys in advance, I am just trying to figure out what kind of an investment I will be making just to keep the thing totally reliable.

If you are planning on taking it to the dealer, just call them up and ask how much for service. Bikes are not that different than cars when it come to service.
oil change. plugs if needed. air filter. timing. valve job. check the tires, replace if needed. check the forks. check all the seals. lube the chain. tighten the chain. wash and vaccuum
Also, you may want to look into a service manual if you are going to do it yourself. Mine has a procedure for tune-ups.
