92 si rpm ????????
I own a 92 prelude Si, my question is when I am going down the highway at 70mph my tach is reading 3600rpm. Is this normal????? The car currently running an H23 with automatic......
does that seem high or low to you. My brother has a auto 92 si. and I used to drive it all the time. I am trying to remember what the rpm for mph was like. i hve a 5 speed and around 70 in 5th gear its around 3500 or so and at 80 mph its at like 3900 or 4000
( 5 speed 92 SI is what i have)
why what were the rpms before? or has it always been like that.
think about it. for a top speed of roughly 140 some mph at around 6500 rpm.. you are going half the top speed in its top gear... which should mean ur going half the redline.. i know its not exactly correct.. but that seems like it would make sense
but get a tune up. something as simple as that could mean all the difference

my '92 Si is at 3k rpm at 64mph, so you're about the same, but slightly higher. I hit 4k rpm at 81 mph. So about 200rpm for every 4mph in that gear. I may have some bad math, but that puts me at 3600 rpm at 76 mph.
and it fits with IIBPII's math. I'd hit 128mph at 6k rpm, with a top speed around 136 mph.
