Default Switching hondata between different ecus?

I had hondata in a obd2 car (96 civic ex) and I want to put hondata in my 92 dx hatch. The hondata ecu That I bought for the 96 ex is obd2 socketed so that I wouldnt have to buy the skunk2 harness:

This is the ecu that was in my dx hatch(p06):

I looked on the hondata website, and it said that hondata can be used on the p06. But the p06 doesnt have vtec. What would be the easiest way to run hondata in my 92 dx hatch?

Would I be able to use that even though the ecu is obd2 as opposed to the car? I'm guessing I would just put the harness on backwards?

Have you tried calling Hondata and asking them what your options are? Maybe even try the board...most of us are good guys.

No, I havent tried calling hondata yet, I was thinking of just taking both ecus and installing the hondata in the p06. Because on the hondata website, it says the s100&200 are compatible with the p06. Would doing that negate the tuning I had done?

It shouldn't. Just make sure your solder connections are good when you transfer componenets. Will you be transplanting the engine that the ECU is tuned for into the hatch?

Yes, the engine (b18c1) is already in the hatch, I just need to put the harness on, and the ecu. Also, I know that the p06 doesnt have vtec. What do I need to do to make it work?

Ack, can't make a non VTEC computer VTEC compatible. You're best bet is to scoop a P28 or a P72...or do without VTEC. Sorry man.

Before you go buy one, call Hondata and see if they know if you can reverse wire your OBD2 ECU into your OBD1 car. It's always worth a shot.
