Well today after a little bit more tuning we hit 241whp and 167trq. We detuned the car a lot so that it will run perfectly safe. BTW- I'm still using stock internals.
Once I get rid of this 2.25" top fuel exhaust for my 3" thermal R&D I should get a gain of 7-10whp from the testing that I've tried. Add that with some more tuning and the car will hit around 250's whp and 170's trq. The boost gauge from 7k-on reads 8psi. When VTEC kicks in it read around 9psi. Since I'm using the stock R cams, it causes the boost to bleed off at high rpms.
It crazy how quick the car is now. Even with my weight and my fat A032R's I get crazy wheel spin when shifting and when taking off. The car now has a new blower sound and also the exhaust is louder due to the more power.
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know what the car is doing right now with my setup!

How much more power would you expect with some Civic Type R pistons! And a spoon header. hehe j/k. sounds likie a fun car to drive, I will not feel boost until I get a 1991 240 sx (real soon) and turbo that! So far the saftest car I have been in is mine

that was the detuned number. The car could be pushed a lot more with more timing and fuel but I doubt it will hold after a few runs and after heat kicks in. That number I hit felt safe and ran safe, so we kept it.

I've tried GSR cams (GSR intake only which is all your suspossed to use & my type R exhaust cam) in the past and I lost around 5-10whp just from slapping them on. I know that if I would have tuned the gears I could have gained some power, but no enough to push it past the 5-10whp that I lost from using them. However when I did try that setup the car did feel stronger in the shifting and redline area. What I noticed what that the boost held strong all the way to redline where as with the overlap setup of using R cams, causes the boost to bleed when compression drops toward redline.

Give me call sometime!

Hey Mike,
I believe the idea is to use the GSR exhaust cam, not the intake, on a supercharged motor. That way the exhaust valve closes sooner allowing more charge to build up in the cylinders. Closing the intake valve early will only keep the charge out of the cylinders, and raise your manifold pressure.
The car is looking really strong in any event. Was the latest increase simply a matter of better fuel/timing management, or did you add some new changes to the mix?

Everyone that I have talked to out here in Cali (Granted most of them are ricers) had never heard of thermanl R&D. I was looking into those, how do you like it?

what I did was made the charger spin up even quicker. Its like raising the boost, however it didn't raise it at the redline area that much. The peak boost reads 9psi, but from 7k rpms- on to redline it reads 8psi plus we played with the programming of the ECU more. And no its a not a Hondata.
I might have done a GSR exhaust cam. I forget. I did it at the begininng of this year.
