Default Intake hose

Out of curiosity, i was wondering what the smaller of the two hoses that go to the intake tube in a '93? I saw a picture of someone's engine on cardomain and he did not have it hooked up, is it not necessary?

the larger of the two goes to the top of the valve cover and the smaller one went across a little to a little container thing that says "Up"

im assuming ur intake hose can only take one hose......use the one off the valve cover, im 90% sure thats for the vtec, but im NOT positive (trying to remember the schematic diagrams from my AEM instal)......the second one is fine, just make sure u put a piece of foam or a breahter filter on it

no, the intake hose has a thing for both of them, it's not really a problem just a matter of curiosity of what the small one is for. And yeah i always thought that big one was the vtec.

the larger one is your crank case ventilator...this is the one that goes from your valve cover to the intake tube...the other one connected to that same hose is the egr vaccuum line...the little can that says up is your egr, not vtec selenoid or anything of that sort...

also, i wouldn't recomend you put a breather on the crank case ventilator unless you are runnig forced induction...there's a reason honda plummed that back into the intake...
