Default another possible type R scam on ebay.. a motor this time.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...58428

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The motors were made in 2000 year. Both have around 10000 miles</TD></TR></TABLE> but i see a 4 lug.

i already sent him a message about it. hopefully he will change the auctoin

and i get this email (a seperate email then the one i sent about the 4-lug)

Thank you for your email.
I have 2 identical engines: 1600 USD each. The motors were bought for myself
but now I am forced to sell them quickly as I need funds. Both motors are in
excellent condition.
If you offer me 1600 USD right now I will organize free shipping.
I am selling it at such an attractive price because I need funds to invest
in my business in Europe.
Payment method: to my international bank account as it is qucker and easier
for me.

sounds shady. pretty sure it's a scam.

if it were a legit deal, he could get $3,000 just as easily as $1,600...so much for needing the $$ quickly.

if it sounds too good to be true...

i think he's trying to point out that if they were made in 2000 then they would be 98 spec swaps and thus they would have 5 lug.

96 spec was 4 lug.

Well I was under the impression it was only in 96 that they had 4 lug patterns, and if you took the time to read the ebay description he said they both came out of an 2000. People are so eager to try to own someone they make themselves look like asses.

hmm lets see.. hes selling an b18c5 for 1600 bucks.... which is cheaper than a ls motor when he knows that he could sell that motor just as fast for 2500 or 3000 and he wants you to pay to his INTERNATIONAL account ... hmm so he cant be tracked... lol dont do it its most likely a scam in my opinion

i just recieved mail that he is in utica, KY. that makes it even more fishier with the international account.

he offered to accept 50% of payment until i get the motor and inspect it. that is even more fishier because no dealer like that would do that, there is an easy $800 from him.

im waiting for a reply to see if we can do third person.

anyone around here in KY?? maybe you guys can check it out for me? what is better than a $1600 ITR motor? but i smell scam

Yep, just offer pick up.

Totally scam. The sad thing is that are these kind of auctions everyday.

Can always be a hacked account. Would explain immediate payment=free shipping, private auction etc.... Sounds like the guy is just looking for immediate payment so that he can get the money and get out. Good eye with the 2000 4 lug though. I have obviously from my username this motor and mine is a 97 which came with the "Big 4 lug pattern" hubs and wheels.
