I'm not sure if this is limited to my experiences, but everywhere I go in Mass I get **** for my New York State ID. Like, being instantly denied buying alcohol when I show my out-of-state ID. Basically, two different stores have lost my buisness because of this bullshit policy (I buy 2 cases of Bud/week on average). I'm 25 for the record, and there's no way I look 20 years old. Hell, I could buy alcohol with a fake ID when I was 18!

On another note, assuming I'm just too lazy to get a Mass ID (I have some parking tickets I would have to pay before they would give me a Mass ID), if I get pulled over should I just lie and say I live out of state and am visiting friends or should I tell the cop I moved here but haven't got an ID yet?

I wouldnt lie about visiting because you could get in trouble. I would pay the tickets and get a mass ID. It will save you time in the long run and you can still buy your booze.

I believe the law states that you have to get a new license within 30 days of moving to a new address.

da hell, can't buy beer?? dumbest thing I've ever heard. I'm pretty sure the federal law is that you have to be 21 to buy beer, not necessarily a resident of that particular state in which you are buying it. The ID only serves to show that you're of age to buy it. I've bought beer in Georgia, showing my Tennessee ID, no problems.

Honestly, this was my understanding as well, but apparently there's some bullshit movement going on that out-of-state ID's aren't accepted. Boston is obviously a huge college town with 9 universities all in close proximity to the city, so this may be a knee-jerk reaction to all the underage drinking...

The liquor store that's a 2 minute walk from my apartment has given me so much **** I will never go back there And I'm generally very open and friendly, not mad shady walking in there with a hat tucked down low and not making eye-contact...etc.

Man I am ******* pissed about this

Oh ****, I totally forgot that when my friend from California came out for New Years, (and I'm really starting to get angry about this again) he bought no problem with his Cali liscense from the place down the street. I walk in there later that night, and gave a warm hello to the same guy that sold it to my friend, and the ****** not only wouldn't let me buy, but said if my other friend (who has a Mass ID) bought it that I couldn't walk out of the store with it. Can you ******* believe this ****!? I'm not inclined to disrespect people, but I said, 'What the **** is your problem? I'm 25 years I don't need this bullshit from you, **** this' and walked out. In hindsight, I wish I had fucked that guy up or smashed something, because his attitude was un-*******-believable.

I'm so ******* angry about this, I forgot all about it and now I'm getting really pissed all over again... Sorry for venting
