Default How to ID a Spoon headgasket ??

A friend is asking me how he can tell that the Spoon 2-ply head gasket he bought is legit. Obviously, the OEM gasket is 3-ply where the Spoon is 2-ply but other than that, is there a marking or something that could be used to ID the gasket ??

Ironically enough, the reason he asked me is because I have one installed on my car. However, I don't recall seeing any kind of marking on the gasket.

Thanks for the help.

Come on guys, someone must know the answer to this question ... I really need to know this info. Other than the fact that the gasket is 2-ply, how else can I tell if the Spoon gasket is legit ??

Yes, the packaging is just like that but it has been opened. Do you know if there are any marks on the gasket itself ??

the spoon gasket is a honda OEM gasket which spoon drills out the rivets, pulls out the 3rd layer and then repackages it. No "spoon" markings if that is what you are asking
