Okay, I found a really good local deal on a type r head with (apparently) all internals. The type r was written off with 48000 kms, and I just want to know what to look for to ensure it's not an SI or GSR head. The stamping should be b18c5, but as for anything else to look for I'm lost. any help would be great.

 

Green paint by the distributor on the intake side.

Port bowl work. It's pretty obvious. Maybe I can find the pics I took of my roommate's head.

Don't bother looking for a B18C5 stamping. It's not gonna be on the head. It should have a PR3-# stamping on the exhaust side, but that's about it.

 

thanks for the info. I read (on ebay mind you) that the b18c5 heads get a port and polish from honda........
