I am going to be purchasing a salvage/theft recovery '98 CW ITR from my employer IAS. On to the point of my post. Who ever stole the car took the interior and spoiler only. They left the eng/trans/suspension etc in tact. Can anyone on the list tell me if there is any correlation between the last six #'s of the VIN and the ITR #? In other words if the last six was for ex. 000123 it would be ITR#98-0123? Can anyone shed some light on this? If not how can i find out the ITR #. I know this is kinda pointless it is just for my curiousity. I am trying to figure out what # this ITR is. It came from the Baltimore MD/DC area so someone on the board may know who it belonged to before being stolen. Any and all help would be appreciated..... Thanks ahead of time....

That is what I was thinking. I was hoping that someone on here might know about this specific car by chance and help me out. Who knows.. She only has like 46K miles too.... Low miles for a '98 CW... Now to see if someone on here remembers her as their own or a friends old one...
Thanks

I don't think i would. You just can't find CW ITR's anymore for a decent price much less with nice miles. I have been waiting for this one...
Talk to Victor, he has a list of stolen MD/DC/NoVA ITRs, he might be able to match it up to one and the previous owner. His HT name is 97 TYPE-R 312.

my old r was #0106.. the last 4 digits of the VIN were 2199.. the VIN isn't an accurate way to tell the number..
i'm sure smitdog would agree.. he has #120 and his VINs don't match his number if I remember correctly..

Without the original owners help, you'll most likely never find out
. I've been trying to find out my 97 for ever. Supposedly someone on this board called Acura HQ (like I have 50 times) and someone finally knew what he wanted and said that he would have to e-mail Honda JP...got back to him in 2 weeks with documented numerical proof. Good luck, but don't get bummed too much when you turn up empty handed...or numbered.
