short shifter
I have a question for you all. I am looking to replace my shifter. Looking to get a shorter one. I can only find one post that talks about this topic. The brand name is Skunk 2. I was wondering if any one new of any different types of brands that are a direct bolt up for an ITR.
Thanks.

skunk2 has been good for me so far. good, solid feel. steel not aluminum, which is better imho. despite what some think, i feel it's a good investment.
the shifts feel real crisp and precise. with a full short shifter, the **** sits lower which looks better too, but that may not affect your thinking.

I bought one and feel the same way. Obviously, avoid DC or Neuspeed. But if you're looking for bang for buck, go with Skunk2. Or you can always get a nice JDM C's...

try searching the archives for "short shifter" .... it doesn't have to be just in the ITR forum.
Many companies make them and they all are basically the same design with just minute differences in angles and such.
The exception would be C's (that's the actual name), which uses bearings not unlike those found in rollerblades (actually the ones I measured were an exact fit). The problem with the C's is they are expensive, out of business, and difficult to find.
I would recommend looking at the bigger name companies, B&M, Neuspeed, Skunk2, and there are many others I'm forgetting which all offer great values. While you're doing this it takes literally 1 minute to swap out the shifter bushings for urethane ones, which are either available for really cheap, or included with the short shifter.
Of note too, all a.market short shifters are the same thread pitch as the factory ****.

Theres SKUnk2, which is good.
I also suggest to check out the FLP shifter.

Pretty popular with the AutoX crowd

Skunk 2 shifter is not really much shorter than stock. I bought one and was kinda disapointed. For $100 there was minimal change and it still felt notchy (skunk2 shifter, skunk2 ****, and polyurethane bushings).

I bought the skunk2 when I had my 98R.... It didn't make hardly any difference. Use the 100 dollars somewhere else. Maybe save towards a track day. How much fasater do you really need to shift???

I second that. I  c's. But then stock is fine enough for me.

I hear ya on that.
if you pick some up you'll have no problem selling them (flip me an email with details, I'll probably "pre-order one" from you), providing the price is in the 100-200 range.
