?HELP? Where to bolt down seat belt harness?
Hey. 91 CRX Si. I want to get some seat harnesses but have no where to bolt down the harness since our gas tank is behind us and you're not supposed to bolt straight down from the seat (supposed to do it at 45 or more degress for proper fitment). Where have most of you bolted down your harnesses? Thanks.
You mean like a racing harness.. They are built and designed to be bolted to the rollcage bar behind the seat.. Bad things can happen when you bolt them to other places, And I have actually seen what happens when not done correctly.. Just an fyi..
My inside lap belt is clipped to an eye-bolt in the OEM hole. I did the same with the outer lap belt as well, but mine is an 88 with floor mount belts. In the 91, you'll need to drill the floor and use a backup plate with double nuts. The rear shoulder belts can be run over the harness bar of the rollbar/cage and mounted to the floor in the rear of the hatch. This eliminates the angle issue but creates unnecessary length in the straps which will increase the amount to stretch. Also, since your harness bar is right there, you can use it as a mount rather than just a guide bar and just wrap the belts around without any bolting required. The sub-belt will depend on the style you have, which you didn't mention. That's about it
