Default gsr head options

ok, i have the old head from my gsr from the old motor. i took it to a carquest to have them test it to see if it was rebuildable. from the piston goin nuts it bent 2 exhaust valves, 2 guides and i think thats it. pressure tested etc..all was good. they want about 200 to rebuild it. im thinkin to myself maybe i should build it up myself but ive never really attempted something like that. is this something i can do myself? its pretty torn down right now and i can either have them put it back together (for more $$$) or i can take it as is. i also need some ideas. lets say i build up this head myself(if i can). my car is my daily driver but i would like a little more hp in the setup. what kinds of things would you guys recommend? i would really like to attempt this myself as a learnin experience type deal.

if you need to replace the valves i would suggest using integra type r valves since they are contoured to flow better and are about 12% lighter then the stock valves i am using a set of these when i take the head to a machine shop to have a port and polish job done in a couple months

The only problem that you may encounter is changing the
valve guides...
if you have no experience...

i would suggest putting in some after market vlaves, double valve springs, and titanium retainers. as for the valve guides get some oem ones and have a machine shop intall them for u. everything else u can do urself. go to ur local parts store and rent a valve spring compressor and install everything else urself. before installing the valves u should get a valve grind. im pretty sure u'll be able to do it urself. just go to a parts store and ask them what is needed for a valve grind. should cost u about 10 bucks total for the valve lapping material and tool.
