For starters, you have to upgrade the entire fuel system, and do all the wiring necessary for PGM-FI fuel injection.

Try http://www.redpepperracing.com for G3 Civic & G1 CRX help.

Get the new issue of Super Street. The one with "Top Speed" on the cover.
It's not a how-to but there is an article on a 1984 Mugen/Comptech CRX.
It shows how they got 163 horsepower out of that little carbed 1.5 E W powerplant.
Just a suggestion.

I would say that it's far cheaper and easier to make the carbed engine car go fast, rather than try to make it EFI. Supercharged, turbocharged, Webers, cams, etc They would all be ALOT less time, money, and work, than to add everything you'd need to do a non-EFI - EFI swap. Wiring, electronic advance ( new dizzy?), the WHOLE fuel system, fuel tank, fuel lines and pump and filter to IM.
But if you feel the need, It should be a nice project.

sorry to be a pest just getting into the first gen crx scene...

EFI in gen1 carb CRX would turn heads, but are you up to the job of installing it?
To make more power from a carbed car, the first step would be a new IM and Weber carbs, maybe a cam. From there you need to start reading evertything you can about getting HP out of carbed CRX's.

Let me help 95turbo out a little.
Things he needs to know:
1: Is the d16z6 a bolt-in mount wise?

2: Will the axels fit into the 85 hubs, or rather, what susp/brake upgrade (GSR etc) will be good and will fit the d16z6 axels?

3: How do you we run his car obd1 so we can use hondata on it?

4: Stop giving him carb ideas!

To be honest I really don't know HOW-TO install an MPFI set-up into a carb CRX, I would find it too daunting of a job. I just thought it would be easier to hop-up the car as it stands.
Now, the question is, do YOU realise how hard it would be?
From the little bit I've read. You will NEED the ENTIRE fuel system from filler neck to injectors and everthing in between from an 85-87 CRX Si, Then BOTH engine and cabin harnesses. And then you would need to run ALL the MPFI wiring, Body mounted sensors, MAP, Purge solenoid, vacuum lines, ECU mounting, etc. What a PITA.
Run hondata??? OBD1??? Right now the car is OBD non-existent LOL
He has NO MPFI wires in the car he would need to install ALL that FIRST.

If your goal is the swapping in of a more powerful engine, easily. Selling it is probably the best option at this point, unfortunately.

Just find an 85-87 CRX Si or any 88-91 CRX, they're already wired for EFI, it makes things alot easier to swap, then.

instead of using an si parts car to do the fi swap, id say buy a wrecked 92-95 civic or sumthign and just put the whole harness from taht into ur crx, im guessing its gonna be a more race car so maybe if the dash lgihts dont wokr etc. it wouldnt matter. i just thought of a crazy idea too, keep the crx harness, and put in the civic harness too, just plug it to the engine and leave the rest unplugged, thats a really dumb idea i think, but u could like do somehtign like that, i was trying to think abut it but its too much for me to put together ill post more if i research how everything would work
