I just got a set of rims & i need to know what is reccomended for a 17x7 rim on a 4th gen

 

Recommend as in tires?

Oh just didn't see that in the original post.....first off is it dropped or going to be dropped?

 

Its not dropped now but i think i will go with a 1" drop in the summer

 

205/45 fits good

 

can anybody post pics of the tires with rims?

 

I would go with a 215/50/17 and 50 series tires won't look like 4 wheelin either, but it won't look paper thin...your gonna have mad wheel gap.

 

if i went with 215-40-17 & a 1" drop what kinda wheel gap will i have?

 

with a 17" wheel I would a 2-3 finger gap....I would go with a 1.8" and 1.7" in back (eibach) IMO is a really subtle but useful drop, I am rolling on 15's and I have a 1 finger gap up front and none in back.
edit: I have 195/60/15

almost everywhere will recommend 215/45-17 on 17 x 7 wheels to get the closest to the stock diameter

that's what i have too, little bigger than stock tires btw with 17's like half an inch bigger but nothing cant be fix with sum mad powah burnout and high speed freeway braking

let me just say real quick as well: don't cheap out on the tires though when you buy them!...it's the most common mistake i see people make when they buy wheels and can be the a devastating choice...my old accord was totalled because i didn't have good tires on it...just my .02

 

there are tire claculators online that will calculate the upgrade tire size for your vehicle. so you can decide for yourself what size you prefer.

I have 205-40/17's on my 17x7 rims, which is 0.24 inches taller than the stock 195-60/14's. You can find a pretty good tire calculator at http://www.whalentire.com , which will tell you the difference in overall diameter, revolutions per mile, and changes in speedometer readings, etc.
