interesting info on lease residual values
yeah, light on R info, but it pertains to cars R owners may trade into.
best lease residual values: http://channels.netscape.com/n...idual
worst lease residual values: http://channels.netscape.com/n...idual
the worst cars were mostly domestics and the best were mostly high dollar german and japanese cars. of interest, the s2k, acura tl, and porsche boxster (all cars R owners might buy) retain about 52% of their value through a 3 year lease.
what does it mean? it shows what cars hold their value the best. also, (i'm not 100% sure) if you lease a s2k for $32k then after 3 years your purchase (finance) cost would be about $17k. since the car holds it's value so well, you would buy the car for much less than it's worth or you could sell it right off for about $22-25k (rough estimate of low mileage s2k).

Good info.... I'm finding out about that right now as a finance the remaining value of my leased R. I'm going to owe far less than the present value, luckily.
WHY did I lease again???
I could be almost done paying for it at this point....
