Default Are Toyo RA-1 a bad idea for the street?

I was thining of getting Some Toyo RA-1's for some autocrossing, but i still need to drive on the street too.(until I get another set of rims)

will the RA-1 be to harsh and not reach operating temps or be too slippery in the rain?

they will wear out super fast, not to mention get all hard from the constant heat cycling of daily driving.
