Default Recommendations for a head job ??

I might decide to get a head job for my ITR (port, polish, multi-angle valves, etc.). I don't want to give the head to just anyone with a grinder and some power tools, I want someone who knows exactly what to do the head and what the limitations are. Can you guys recommend someone ??

Sorry this man is the ****! im not talking about referrals I had my work done there, top quality service and turn around. Being he helped build the fastest na honda I think his work speaks for itself.

Here is the intake side of my head... really nice work! I got the full competition head work and 3 angle valve job... my stock si valves flow better than ITR valves.

Give Brad at RLZ a try. http://www.hondaraceengines.com. He has had some nice results, even the head that was on my ITR was amazing...

Looks like this is going to be harder than I thought !! Being that this is going to cost me more than a few bucks, I'm going to look deeper. I am tending towards alaniz or portflow. DPR was too expensive and ericksracing refers you to alaniz anyway. Haven't checked out Hondaraceengines.com yet. Any of you running these setups on a daily driver with a stock bottom end ??

AVOID DPR at all costs, unless you don't mind seeing your head for over 7 months....

I agree, Joe is a very good guy and does bad *** work. All his heads come with before and after flow charts and he is the ONLY one that will touch your head so you know it will be done right.

I'd say it depends on what you're after.

DPR - great quality, but the wait is rediculous

Portflow - strictly off-the-shelf... this is a compromise shop IMO

Alaniz - good, but getting to be cookie-cutter like Portflow - not customizing enough to the application

RLZ (hondaraceengines.com) - very nice quality and price - I used to recommend them higher, but they're dragging *** building my engine so I'm hesitant to send Brad any business right now.

http://www.hondaraceengines.com or PM users "HEAD" or "fckned" on this board. I've been reading stuff all three of those guys have written about head porting and they all really know their stuff.

He rebuilt my bottom end too, I blew a rod!!!

usdm itr spec p73 .25 overbore
bored and honed bottom end, new crank, bearings, new seals, and pumps...

the engine seems to have more torque if you can believe that... I do not have aftermarket cams, vtec controllers, or anything of the like, just a stock *** motor with some bolt ons... welp besides whats sitting in the belly of the beast now...

if your in so cal I would let you take it for a spin. The **** is top notch stuff.

BLING BLING!!! lol

Well, I talked to Brad-Z and the guy seems like a cool customer who knows his business. His price is also very decent. I won't be able to do this for another week or two (until I can afford the downtime) so I'm still educating myself.

For you guys who've dealt with Brad, what kind of turnaround did you see ??

I would def. send it TOM at portflow ... the prices there are really good and I have seen how they do the head jobs on video through one of my friends that did a project on an SI involving portflow .... the head comes back really nice. So my vote goes to portflow.

heads are taking a couple weeks at RLZ. There is a HUGE demand right now for Brad's services, for good reason.

You can ask him what your downtime woudl be like, but it depends on what you want to have done.

there's no doubt that you'd make great power with the head when all is said and done though.
