Default Maximum boost on what compression?

Hi,

can someone tell me what difference in maximum boost it makes if i have a 10:1, 9.5:1 or 9:1 compression?

The engine is a stock B16A1 Engine

i know that there is a lot of stuff concerning this but the search function does not work on short parameters like "10:1"

i don't need an explanation, only a short conclusion on whats safely possible on the different compression ratios.

Thanks
Malte.

the lower the compression the more boost you can run but the less response youll have down low when your not spooled up. its an even trade off. run 6 psi at 10:1 is the same as 8 psi at 9:1 get it?

Thanks for your answer but that was not my question

i know that cr and boost are a balancing act between boost (power) and turbo response and low and tourqe.

my question was, whats the aprox. boost limit i can run on a stock b16 with the three mentioned compression ratios without blow my motor?

there is no specific answer. once you get to a certian point with gas there is no ammount of timing you can pull to stop detonation and when you get to that point the egt's are probably gona melt some ****.

the lower the compression the more boost you can run with said type of gas. ex. we ran 22-25psi on pump gas in a 2liter b16 that had about 7.8:1 compression. we probably could have ran more. egt's were in check and there was NO knock at all.
