DIY door panels
I got a 95 teg just showing a DIY door panel re-furbishing so it doesn't match the colors of the seats.

*Write Up*
here's a semi quick write up, before I go to bed.
1. Take off the door panels and disconnect all power window/door-lock/ speaker cables.
2. get fabric from store any color you want. Don't want it too think because you have to push it down the seam between the plactic part of the door and the existing fabric.
3. lay fabric out over existing fabric that you wish to change. Then cut out around that but leave about an inch or a little more around it so you can tuck it and so that it covers the area nicely.
4. I found that spray fabric adheasive works good you need to test this first with a little piece of fabic to that the adheasive doesnt run through the fabric( if the fabric is too thin it will cause this).
I used Stick It spray adheasive on mine and it came out great.
5. Once the fabric is cut out, lay over the area again to make sure its going to cover the whole area. Then take the spray and start at one end. I went from the top to bottom on mine.
6. spray the adheasive onto the existing fabric around the ouside 1st then work the inside. Don't spray the whole thing at once go in little segmentsmaking sure the fabric is laid out nice and flat with no bubbles. Continue doing this with the whole side and then repeat for the other side.
7. Once that is done and dried( i waited 20 minutes) start pushing the fabric down the crash around the area with a butter knife( or anything reasonably thin with mass) . making sure you don't develop wrinkles or pulls.
8. Trim off the extra so that all you see is what the picture posted above looks like and your done.
Don't be afraid of getting the adheasive on the plastic door panel it's self, some rubbing alcohol fixes it right up.
I realized today that I can take out the old fabric all together and lay the cushion with the new fabric all together. It looks just as good.
If anyone has any more questions feel free and ask, I can try to get some pictures tomorrow.
Or if anyone is intersted in my doing there door panels hit me up with a PM or AOL I/M s/n froztyluderacer or via email kriskovanda@***.net

so u didn't paint the actual door pannel fabric...you put a whole new layer on?
...also, does the fabric paint make the fabric feel different? like harder or more grainy?

well im going to paint my whole interior black b.c i have tan. and i also wanted to change the fabric on my door pannels. i did a test on one of the trunk liners.
