91 EF hatch swap
I have a 1991 hatch with a 1993 gsr motor in it (b17a1) and i want to put a crx si motor in it. My friend bought the whole swap out of the car....anyway i was wondering what all parts i will need...I have the motor trans and ecu...please let me know...

my friend paid $2k for the motor swap, im pulling the motor out of the car for him and putting it into his crx. I paid $200 for the shell and he gave me his SI motor for the labor. Can't pass up a running car for $300 (si motor needs head gasket).
you guys think it'll wire up without any problems?

not the brightest crayon in the box are ya? with 3k though, you can get a b18 and drop a few bucks into it like cams. and it would killt he b17.
b17 is a junk motor anyways, but any b series is better then a d series.

Durablitity wise, same as any other Honda. Change the oil and it'll run forever
They were last made in 1993, so the newest ones are at least 11 years old at this point, there are quite a few still running strong with close to 200K on them. Some with alot more than that..
Performnce wise about the same as a first gen JDM B16 with a little more pull.
I never drove a B18C so I can't say how it compares.
But my B17 GS-R seems to pull ALOT harder than my 91 LS did with a B18A1, especially at high RPM.( LS trans

I just got over losing my car, I had a completley built '84 300zx Turbo. I had put alot of money in it and then I got caught street racing and I wasn't able to get my car out. So in return, I lost my job because I had no transportation, my license cost alot of money to get reinstated,insurance on a 91 hatch is $270 a month for basic liability and pip. So bottom line, I haven't had a car for 8 months. I paid 200 for the rolling chasis and my friend that bought the gsr motor gave me a motor out of his crx. I am getting the car on the road for less than $600. So if you think that is stupid I really don't care. I also have a b20 on the way that I am going to boost. I am going to turn this hatch into a racecar at some point.
