Default Post pics of your tweeters

Im intrested in putting in some tweetwes in my 89 DX and i wanna mount them infront of the doorhandle.. I need a plastic surrounding or something that i can place the tweeter..


can i see some pictures of your tweeters mounted?

You want to have the centers of the speaker as close as possable for good imaging. I cut a hole in the speaker grill and mounted the tweeter perfecctly centered over the mid, works good, and you can get rid of the tweeter w/o leaving a hole just by replacing the grill.

i wouldn't cut holes in your interior my 88 std came with tweeters that some moron put in it and now i got gaping holes in the door panels

Just get alpine S-Type components. The tweeters are built into the speaker, no modification needed and great sound. The end.

I put my tweeters in the foreward most corner of the grill... It looks clean, and was an easy wasy mod.

I've got 6.5" Boston Rally components in my doors.

hey what infinity model did you use? did you have to do any modifications to the door to get the woofer to work?

I don't remember the model# but it's the 6 1/2 reference set, the one with the white woofer not the green. I had to cut the entire back off the stock speaker basket leaving basically the "ring" around the speaker to mount it back in the stock location.

I've replaced my manual mirrors for power units. THis gives me flush mount surface for installing the tweeters. no D camera to show it though.
