Default Guys when i attatch my face, nothing happens, help!!

Hi guys, the other day i was coming back from work, and all of a sudden as i was folding my monitor back in so that i could take the face, it stopped moving and the antenna wouldn't go down. So i managed to close it, but the antenna still didn't go down. The next day the face would go back in, btu the antenna wouldn not go down and the music would not go on. the only things i can do is see the time on the face, and i can pop my monitor out and in but nothing else.

Well today i looked at all the connectors and i think i found the problem, but i'm not electronically saavy so i just want your opinions on this. Please bear with me as i try to explain this, i know it might be a little confusing. I looked at the connectors as i was cleaning them. These are the 3 connectors on the back of the face and how they connect.

One of the connectors spans across the back of the face, and it slides perfectly into the slot that it's made for when you connect the face to the unit. That one looks fine.

The other two connectors on the face are holes and when you connect the face to the main unit, there are two metal pieces that slides into these holes. Like i said before i'm not electronically saavy but i do know that usually electrical signals in these connectors kinda rely on metal touching metal. One of these two holes has a small metal piece in there that looks like it was solidered or soldered (however that is spelled) on, the other hole has no metal, all i see is part of a green board, and two VERY TINY holes where i think a piece of metal might have been soldered on but broke off. I think this is the problem . Do you guys think that another piece of metal can solder onto the board safely? I'm like 95% sure that's the problem

Sounds like you have found your problem. Without that other small metal piece to make contact with the face plate when inplace does not make a "complete circuit" so to speak and is probably why the head unit is not working properly. More than likely, you will need to take it back to the shop that installed it or if you installed (hopefully not more than a year ago) you will need to take it out and send it to the manufacturer for repair.

I doubt that those holes have anything to do with your problem.. The "bar" you describe is probably what contains all the contacts of the radio. It sounds like the radio either needs to be reset by the "reset" button, commonly found on either the face of the radio or behind the face on the main unit. It will look like a small button just large enough to push with a pen tip etc...hit that and if that doesnt solve your problem disconnect power from the radio by disconnecting either the wire harness in the back or by removing ALL the associated fuses for the radio, there most likely will be more than one fuse and they may be located under the dash and under the hood, try that and you wil most likely solve your problem. If not try cleaning the contacts GENTLY on the back pof the face and the radio with a pencil eraser. Hope this helps.
