can you take a y8 head off without taking the cam out?

just like the title says , can you take the head off complete on a D series?

yeah you can its the same thing you would do to a dual head

Edited: oops sorry umm no you dont need to take the cam out to pull off the head

Uuummmmmm, yes you can pull the head on a SOHC without pulling the cam. NO you can not pull the head on a DOHC without pulling the cams. Cams sit right above the head bolts. LS, GSR, B16, ect.........

ya i knew b series you couldnt but i was kinda sure you could with the D series . thanks

yeah you dont need to take the cam out, done it hunderds of time before with the cam in

yea on SOHC the head bolts on are on both sides of the cam, unlike on a DOHC the cams are right above the head bolts which makes you remove the cams to remove the head.
