Default b17 in a ef8???

how realiable are these motors. im familiar with all other B-series motors but not this one that well. i know this is the 1st generation gsr motor, 1.7 160hp, i know its torque is somewhere aroound 121lbs. can any one else with a b17 motor shine some light for me, on some detailed specs of this motor, ie compression, yata yata. i had a sohc vtec crx, but sold it n didnt get bak into the honda scene for a while, unfortunatly the only honda id drive to make fast are the 2 seaters i love my crx ya technicallys its a 4 seater in japan, but i doubt those seats are used. believe it or not my sohc vtec was almost as fast as this b17 motor i have in my rex now. then again a sohc motor is few hundred lbs lighter than the b-series motors. well ive joined the B-series group, or should i say ive entered the Dohc-side.
mods for motor-
b17
itr head
itr pistons
shotpend rods
balanced n blueprinted crank(b17)
b16 y1 lsd tranny?
titan motorsports cam gears
titan motorsports 6pt rollbar cage.
-complete gutted interior besides 2 seats, dash board w/cluster of course, n battery in the truck. no heater core,no ac, no ps!

- i havnt really ran it at the track yet, but im not really sure wut times to expect, cuz obvious its a very low torque motor, so it doesnt feel fast, till u look outside at the street signs n trees passing by like hell.
ne one with the same set or similiar ran it in the 1/4?
thanks for reading.

Is there really a few hundred pounds difference between the DOHC B-series and SOHC D-series? I was under the impression that it was less than that.?

Neg, if your SOHC was as fast as the b17 then either the sohc was a freak or something was up with the b17. who told you there is a few hundred pounds weight difference? its more like 70ish im guessing. ~50pounds can be removed of the front pretty easy anyway with a CF hood and relocated battery

i know for a fact the d16 motor, is close to 100lbs ligter than the b17 or b18 gsr motor. n as far as my sohc vtec ya it was a freak cuz, all i had was i/e/h/no cats/ecu(mugen program)/stage2 clutch n lightened flywheel, i was pulling high 14s(14.88 n a 14.76 was my best) on street tires up at palmdale, which is higher elevation, so at a lower elevation i would pull mid to low 14s in a sohc vtec crx, it was the motor, it was a rare tweaked strong motor from factory, hehe i shifted that single cam at freaking 8200rpms whenever i ran someone, n it was strong, never blew on me for close to 2 years!!!! but this motor seems just a tad faster like from 0-100mph, but then again i havnt timed it yet. im thinkin about goin all motor with itb' n the an-r header, or go turbo both will cost about the same, ne advice ?
please correct me if im wrong, but of course with evidence, im open to critism.
thanks
