damn radiator!!!
So today me and my gf were driving to the pool hall in my 5th gen accord. We got almost there and then she pointed out i was smoking a little bit out of my grill. So i was like ok...thats not right....when we got there i popped the hood and there was green radiator fluid everywhere....it was all over the top of the radiator? which didnt make much sense because if it was a hose wouldnt it just drip down onto the ground rather then go all over my hood and everything?
I havent touched my radiator...ever... my dad had it replaced not too long ago (3 months) but when she noticed the steam coming from the front grill i checked my engine temp guage and it said normal. One thing i did notice that was going on was my idle was starting at 1 grand going to about 1500 and then falling back down again. We recently had that same problem except it went from 1 grand all the way to 2500. my mechanic fixed that. I did take a cloth and push down onto the radiator cap to make sure it was on and it was so i'm not exaclty sure what went wrong?
the very last thing i could think of would be as we were driving down the highway some dick threw this plastic bag (target bag or something) out his window and it got caught right in my grill/headlight area? i dont know if that could have created damage or not?

1. Sounds like a radiator, but see if you can identify where the coolant is coming from. Could be a faulty/ improperly installed hose. BUT if it IS the radiator, it should be covered under a warranty. Even independent shop's radiators have greater than a 3 month warranty. OEM Honda has 12mo/12k miles.
2. The fluctuating idle is cause by the IACV, which usually has coolant running through it. It will do this sometimes if the coolant is low, which it would have been.
3. I seriously doubt if the plastic bag did any damage unles there was something heavy and sharp in it, in which case it would have fallen right onto the road and not blown onto your car.
Hope that helps, good luck,
