do bigger wheels mean that if 3rd gear usually tops out at 85mph, would it top out higher? and do bigger wheels affect acceleration from a roll or just from a stop..
well if you were to get the sizing of the tire/wheel combo right, your speedo should be off by very little, it is possible to make it off by 0% if you match the rev/mile correctly.
Tires are heavier, or just as heavy as most rims out there...they weigh 18+lbs. and they are on the extereme of the wheel so they have an effect that people neglect to mention often.
bottom line, make sure what you put on is just as light as stock and have the same diameter and you should ok(this is the whole tire/rim combo).

ok cause i went from 15's with 195/55/15 to 17's with 205/40/17.. and the overall wieght difference was about 10lbs almost per wheel.. now im going back to stock rims with 205/50/15.. I also noticed the heavy bigger wheel tire hurt my braking and made acceleration with out gas almost impossible.. (u know when u let out the clutch and not give it any gas)
this is wierd but i did notice my miles gauge was messed up on the highway, looking at those mile markers.. it was registering 9.95 miles for every 10.. after every 20 miles it would read like 19.. could that be because of the bigger wheels?
