Bad Valve cover gasket.. will I loose compression?
I have oil build up around part of my valve cover so I know i need to replace since I have like 230,000 some odd miles on my car but anyways will I loose compression because of it? Not that it'll stop me from driving my car but just curious to know.

For informational purposes.
The only thing a valve cover gasket does is keep the oil that lubes the valvetrain inside the engine. Bad valve cover gasket=oil leak. Nothing more.

Thanks for the info. I just hope I don't break valve cover bolt trying to replace it (knock on wood) lol. I've done it to a friends car but was able to get it out because it was loose.
