Default Header question: Is stainless steel really worth the money?

I'm looking into getting an AN-R header for my H22 del Sol in a little while and I was wondering if it is worth the money to get the stainless steel header instead of the normal one.

I know that it doesn't really matter from a performance aspect, I was just wondering if the header will hold up without being coated in stainless steel. I don't want to have my header rust out in a year, especially when I wont be using header wrap on this.

Normally, I would get the stainless steel, but it's $250 extra and with that money I could buy something else that would help me performance-wise. So I thought that someone here might be able to point me in the right direction because a search didn't really help much.

If you don't want to spend the $250 for the xtra coating (and I don't blame you), I'm sure you could get away with spraying on a good amount of ceramic based high-temp paint on the header. That should help in rust-resistance a bit.

Usually headers that arent stainless steel are coated, header companyies dont want their product rusting either. the stainless steel looks bad *** if you clean in very good with alcohol and touch it as little as possible, wear clean gloves when you install it. Other than that it looks sweet I dont really see any reason to buy it.

If you plan on wrapping the header with insulation then I'd go with the stainless as the ceramic coated ones are more at a risk of cracking when insulated.
