interesting.. hmm..maybe i should do that as well.. any info on how long it lasts and any problems after washing your car...
it actually shoudl work really well on our cars.. we coudl jsut cover thebumper with it.. I've seen other cars where they have to put it on the hood and u can see the line from where the protector stops.
that stuff works great i use to work at a dealership and we had a guy come install this stuff and he did a great job and you could barely see the line like you had to really look and look at a angle , if someone thats good puts it on you can really see it and it works very well at protecting your front end as soon as i have my car repainted im gonna have this stuff put on
Great investment,in 2-4 years you peel it off and replace or leave it off and expose your chip free lipspoiler and bumper. On the hood you will always see a line bot my .02 is it's worth every penny. My next new car will get it for sure.

That website shows distributors. That's good only if you're starting a business of installing the film - and this stuff really should be installed by a professional*. You can't even buy it from 3M**.
If you are a consumer, like most of us, you should use this website to find your local professional installer:
http://selector.3m.com/selecto...M=wtb
And yes, there are 9 installers in New Jersey, and 20 in Pennsylvania...
*From the 3M FAQ website:
Q. Can I install Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film myself?
A. 3M strongly recommends that Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film be installed by a fully trained, professional applicator. These are skilled applicators in applying the film around compound curves, challenging grillwork, wheel openings, bumpers and all other areas on today's vehicles.
**From the 3M FAQ website:
Q. Can I purchase Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film directly from 3M?
A. 3M sells larger rolls of film to selected 3M Authorized Distributors and Converters and not to end consumers. 3M does not manufacture vehicle-specific film kits nor does 3M install kits on consumer vehicles. There are hundreds of professional applicators throughout the United States that sell film kits who also apply it to your vehicle. Click on "Where to Buy" in the "Consumer" section of this website to search by the city and state to find the nearest professional applicator(s).

I agree 100%. I'm sure some of us (not me for sure) would be interested though.
You can't live your life freakishly trying to protect a CAR from dirty, scratches, rock chips, etc. Just put it in a bubble and never drive it
It's just not my idea of a worthwhile activity....

Its incredibly great stuff especially compared to a car bra. I have had my film for about 6 months. I had my whole car repainted and installed a fiberglass front end. Within a few weeks it had about 6 rock chips, one really fat one which you could see far away. Since I installed the film not a single one, its really that good.
A bra you have to clean, hassle around with removing, installing, and storing, plus it just looks ugly. Paint protection film you just put on and thats it.
There are oem kits available from 3m, but if you have a custom front end you'll need to make your own. It took a pro about 5 hours install a custom kit on my car just fyi.
Here is where I had mine done and I really reccomend them: http://www.transparentbra.com Their site seems to be down right now though.
The owner was working afterhours on mine till after 6:00 pm to get it done, and it turned out excellently. He has been doing this for several years so you will not have to worry about any newbie errors. Heres a pic of how it turned out: http://www.inanime.com/kaze/itrbra.jpg

I have it on my '01 itr. It's been on since she came from the dealership.
It's great. Better than any bra, it covers the headlights , front lip, front bumper AND part of the hood + mirrors.
If and when I get a jdm front end - I will have it done up as well.
The amount of damage it prevents is incredible. 90% of the cosmetic damage to the car and it's paint is from bugs and rocks on the front. That is no longer an issue.
Oh yeah, it's invisible.

When I get my car repainted I am definitely going to get this on the R. After driving on the interstate 80 miles round trip to work my front end gets beat up pretty bad.
Either that or get a beater.

I have this on my Subaru and it works great! No chips or dings and the front end can be sprayed clean when washing, the bugs come right off.
No matter what some of you may say about battle scars, the clear bra will protect your car and most importantly improve its resale value. When I bought my Subaru I had a coworker pick one up within the same week. He has a ton of chips and dings in his aluminum hood, where as I have none at all. I travel much further to work than he does as well. Definately worth it IMO.
Also, I recommend http://www.rockblocker.com for this product, they have good customer service, cheap prices, and quality products.
Here is a pic with film on, you can bareley see it and it is most noticible on a pure white color:

When I worked at a dealership they advised me that it's best to have it put on when the car is brand new. Even after a few months let alone years are cars accumalate oxidation, dirt, grime, not to mention scratchs and chips....
The sticker just doesn't go on as smooth when the car's not new.
