Default What will be the result of overfilled motor oil?

I filled my friend's Integra GS with 4.5 quarts of oil like I do for my ITR.
At first, the oil was right at the upper dot <car temp @ cold/warm>. But then, after I ran the car for a while and while its hot, I measure it again and it's almost half a quart more than the upper dot.

Should I be concerned? cuz, I don't want to change oil until 3,000 miles later...

I don't know if you should be concerned, but you should be more careful.
If I was you I'd drain the extra out.
You can do more damage being overfilled, than slightky underfilled.
Do you check it correctly? How could you be that much over?

Like I said, it is about right when it is warm or cold...but after I drive it a while, while the engine is hot, it will go over the mark...I precisely put in 4.5 quart. I guess non-vtec with filter only requires 4 qt exactly.

Can I just loose the drain plug abit to let out some oil then immediately tighten it?
Or maybe I can pull in and out the oil check stick 100 times to draw out the oil

just back out the bolt slowly until oil comes out and then just tighten it back up when you think you've taken out enough.

i've heard too much oil is sometimes worse than too little, i know for a fact 951's spin rod bearings like its going out of style when the oil is overfilled.

haha... yea the latter will work.
yea you should be able to loosen the drain plug and let some out, thats cake.

and did you check the oil correctly (not trying to insult you or anything) but did you clean the stick and dip it back in, then check it?

yup, wipe them clean clean clean and insert it again !!
wow...2~3 hours after shut off....hmm..

Anyway, I recall reading the manual or heard from someone that the most accurate reading is startup the car cold and let it run for 2 minutes.
