highest mph in 2nd gear

it's hard to tell what your actual speed will be b/c all speedometers are usually skewed from the factory (for "safety" reasons)... plus using a different tire size will affect it... also, your tach is skewed too... usually about 100-200rpm... it varies from car to car (inconsistencies in production)
None stock tire sizes could make your speedo read probably up to +/- 3mph at 60. A smaller-than-stock radius will make your speedo read high and conversly a larger-than-stock radius will make your speedo read low.
my car get real loud with the CAI in any gear when i floor it. sounds really good 3000k to red. (althou its a nice sound not that striaght pipe back fireing sound)
I don't recall any USDM HOnda having a speed limiter. They all have drag or redline limited top speeds.

Oh yeah they do. My Accord (stock) had a 118mph cutoff. I still had 500+rpm until redline. Now, I have got it up to around 145.

You were actually getting some type of fuel cut at 118 mph?
I got my stock Accord to an indicated 130 on several occasions.
Car and Driver got 127 mph out of your 5G.

I've still never heard of a USDM Honda with a speed govenor.

The difference is the EX and the LX. Everyone I know with the EX could reach 130, those of us with the LX cut off at 118. Scary thing hitting your speed limiter. It was almost like redlining and hitting the rev limiter, but you were not yet at redline.
Oh okay. Wow so the LX (and I guess DX) did/do have a speed govenor. Yeah it's just like the rev limiter, fuel gets cut at the max MPH and the RPMs just bounce off an imaginary limit.
