So I was doing some searching about revlimits for GSRs and ITRs trying to decide what to do for my ITR cams and springs and several of the posts that I read in which ITR owners replied they said that their rev limit was 8,600rpms but they sometimes shift at 8,800+ due to the stock tach being off at higher rpms. Is this true?
If so can something be done about it? Like something other than the giant rice monster $200 dash mounted tach.
By the way my car is a GSR.

yeah, tachs and even speedos are incorrect when they get higher in the rpm/mph range if I remember right. I don't know what you could do unless you had like a digital dash, I could be wrong though.

I guess I am just going to get a programable shift light. What I would really like is a high quality replacement for the stock tach. Same look but perfect accuracy.
Perfect accuracy?
V-AFC. It reads the digital output provided by the ignitor to give you the exact RPM reading, basically it see's what the ECU see's. I think that's as accurate as you'll get. There might be some other digital RPM displays out there, not sure where to find one though...

Yeah someone mentioned that on another forum but then said that it would be hard to read the display. I think an analog style tach would be easier to read, at least while shifting.

Yeah, it really depends on where you mount it. Personally, I don't have mine mounted anywhere near the guage cluster because I don't want theives to notice it, so it's pretty hard to look at the RPM's while I'm driving... If you're creative enough, you could find a place to mount it so it's very easy to see. The V-AFC has settings to where you can have it ONLY disply the RPM in big numbers or a guage style picture. It's pretty cool, I like mine.
I think A'pexi has a turbo timer that shows the RPM's as well? You could mount that on top of the steering column maybe...

I was thinking about getting a VAFC2 anyway. Does the VAFC (1or2) have a shift light setting? Or just a tach mode? What makes a VAFC2 better than the VAFC?
