Default Head and Block Must Match?

Hey Guys, do the chambers of the head and the block must match?

Lets say I used an H22A Type S Head (the motor is originally 87mm bore),
and build it w/ cams, valvetrain, and retainers, and I buy a 89mm built block, will it work using a 89mm head gasket? Or must i do something to the chamber of the head to match it?

It'll work, we B series people have been getting away with it for years. Take the CRVTEC for instance: A unmodified head from an engine with an 81mm bore going on a block with an 84mm bore.
