I only use PPG paint. Dupont is really nice too, but I like PPG's line of of Clear coats. Their clear coats are sooooooo glossy.

it's not the paint that makes it stay or provide a beautiful result... it's the prepping to it...

if the place ur going to ur car repainted does shitty prepping (i.e sanding, taking of old clearcoat ect) then regardless of dupont or ppg the paint won;t last or e nice...

Good point, but paint quality does make a difference if prepped right.

Tip for the DIY'ers: Use cheap Omni base with any PPG clear.

i spray dupont. I have not sprayed anything else. Dupont has several lines. Omni, chroma base, and a higher one, forgot the name.

I do not like the dupont clear, Does not wet out very good.

The one thing about PPG clears, from what I have seen, is they are a bitch to buff out. They do shine more than anything else on the market, but be ready to buff and buff and color sand. If you don't, you will swear that your paints has a murky look to it . . .it's just the clear. Plus, I'm pretty sure it takes a while for to caterize . . ..

I am about to repaint my car and my brothers shop says that dupont is the ****, mind you that they paint show cars for lowrider magazine and they use some top quality **** to paint thier car's with.

Paint is paint to me but really do you think that painting my car with dupont wouldnt be that great of an idea in the hands of some show car pro's or should I just paint my car with ppg.

I am also sure I get a really good discount on the dupont.

both are good quality paint and like others have had said, it depends on the quality of work the shop does. btw I use to have dupont on my car, pretty good but now I have ppg. the ppg clear is amazing. I've have had alot of thumbs up for the shine it produces even in the shade

Nason. It's not a bad product at all for the money. Colormatch isnt as precise but if you're doing a complete it's definately a good product for the money. Like mentioned above if you're looking to stay under about $400-$500 then you could do the omni/nason basecoat with one of the "better" clears. I work at a Jobber that sells Spies Hecker, Dupont(nason, chromabase, chromapremier, centari, imron...), PPG(Omni, Deltron, DDL). The Chroma base and the ppg DBC is just about the same price wise, about $50 difference for the overall package w/ reducer and hardner and all.
