Default I just got my first Civic...now what?

I picked up a 2004 Civic EX Coupe....Now, I want to make the thing fast as fast can be.

I dont want to do an engine swap. But otherwise, where should I start and what should I do? I'm kinda lost, I dont know much about honda's. That is why I am here.

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to turbo it, but I havent seen any turbos for the 04 yet.

Welcome to HT. Time for you to read up.

First, use the search function and look up "DIY turbo" and "Junkyard Turbo".

Read http://www.homemadeturbo.com.

Quick info for you though.. you can turbo ANY car. Custom turbo setups, as opposed to kits, are much much faster because your making the turbo setup for your car and needs.

Your going to need to upgrade the suspension and the breaks before you turbo.

Fast, cheap, and reliable: choose two. So, if you want to be fast, you'll have to pay the cost... Cheap as you can get would be under 500$, and it can and easily will be anywhere from 3k-10k to get your car into the turbo beast you want it to be.

Welcome again, and don't forget to search!

First Of all just start out with the Basic Intake-Header-and Exhaust System...and In between those Mods. get some Lowering Springs or do which ever first. LOL hopefully nobody flames you but i have a feeling you might have to put your Flame Suit On.... but i would do looks first since there isnt that much performance parts out yet for your car... Id lower it first and get some Rims.. but Good Luck on our new car Homie

Just to add on to what Carbon Creations said....
You have a returnless fuel system...remember that for nitrous apps. and other things.

i agree with half of that.. do the exhaust piping. but I/H are going to be replaced if this guy does go turbo.

Remember some people can afford to have other people build their car for them Thats about the only way that this dude is going to get a turbo I feel

the car u hav purchased is brand new...therefore the aftermarket products hav not been developed yet...and also did they change anything motor wise from the 02 other than the nose job?

Congrats but the new generation of civics is weak sauce. Unless you boost the **** out of it. Not to mention the total lack of aftermarket support for your particular car at this point. And to the returnless fuel setup. I'd personally set my sights on improving other areas of the car before the motor. I.E. brakes, suspension, and chassis. But even then the car is still on the portly side. Good luck.

I hate to break it to you but you bought the WORST civic as far as performance is concerned. I have seen a turbo 01 tho...so I guess that would be a good route to go. But you have a return-less fuel system...and you cannot bolt a better B or K series motor in...

check out http://www.7thgencivic.com/

Good luck!

You can swap a K-series engine into a 7th-gen non-Si Civic. It has been done. He said he didn't want to swap though anyway, plus I'm sure that would void the warranty

Sure you can. Just buy the mount kit, bolt that in, and bolt in the engine.

7th-gen Civics are a pain in the *** in general.

Hopefully Honda will wise up and use something like a K18 for 8th-gen Civics. Oh and bring double wishbones back too . . . and take away some of the excess weight. That'd be nice . . .

I'd consult my warranty agreement and then see what will void it. If you care about it anyway.

Either go with a custom turbo kit and thats about as fast as you can make it without a swap, otherwise your going to just be waisting your time and money with intake, header, exhaust, heh i dont even think cams are out for that motor but i wouldn't know.
