My boi has an altima, well actually its his wife he was just driving it. We decided to race. I have a honda accord w/ an i/e and he had an i/e also. Our first race i had him from 1st and 2nd gear by half a car lenght and when we
got to third he slowly pulled away. So i could'nt believe it i really thought i can beat an altima. So i asked for a rematch and so we raced again. Same thing happened.

5-speed Altimas have a really tall 3rd gear where that car's larger engine and torque probably took advantage of you.
At least you can feel good that the Altima (and the new ones too) don't have an independent rear end, just a "multi-link beam."

naw its the 1-2 shift that really sucks on accord, drops you right out of the power band, but there is a remedy to that

Late model Accord and Prelude engine and transmission parts are interchangeable. The Prelude tranny has shorter ratios, so your RPMs fall off less on upshifts. The downside is you can't go as fast in each gear. For example, right now you can probably go around 60 mph at 6,500 RPMs with your F22 motor. Put a Prelude tranny on there, and you'll probably only be able to hit 50~55 mph at 6,500. So your engine may rev faster due to the shorter ratios, but acceleration might not improve due to the limited speed in each gear. The Prelude can go over 60 mph in second 'cause it's engine revs to 7,700 RPMs.
Put an Accord tranny on a Prelude H22, and you can go 75 mph in second! But that tranny slows down the Prelude engine cause it's long ratios totally get you out of the VTEC powerbnad on upshifts.

or you can get a vtec controller and set your x-over like i did, and now i never fall out of the powerband on 1-2 shifts
the longer ratios are best used on boosted applications
