Default Climate control question.

This is a quick question... is it possible to fit a 91' CRX climate control in a 91' Civic dash?
I just want to know if it will fit without any modifications.

well they are the same size if thats what your asking, as far as wiring, i dont see why they would change the wiring between the 2 models.

Yea, I'm asking if they're the same size and I could just slap it in without modifications.

it should fit but nothing will work unless you put in the heater box and wiring from the crx because the temp control is all electric with the crx, and cable operated with the civic. it can work though.

the two cables are open and close on the heating valve.

the crx climate won't work in the civic with out mods and its not really worth it

I can confirm
But to get technical, one cable opens and closes the heater valve, while the other opens and closes the "air-mix" door.
And the second statement is entirely true.

for all that it is worth, the crx has two cables...just like posted above...
BUT 88-91 civic models had FOUR cables

I hate to hijack the thread, but what about a 3rd gen lude control or something on a crx. The crx control is getting kinda rare.

My gues is that the 2g teg with the electronic controls would be easier than the lude controls, and they're plentful.
And if you want a CRX or Civic one BAD enough I'm sure you can STILL get them from Honda. But it'll cost $$$, but you can STILL GET them new.

I forgot all about the 2nd gen teg. Thanks, I will remember that.
One last thing, is the wiring different.

Yea I understand that you can't put a CRX climate control in a Civic without modifying the wires. That's why I asked the question.
I had my CRX stolen recently and I recovered it to find the dash missing. My friend is willing to give me his dash from his Civic, but I don't want to go through the hassle of getting the Civic climate control to work.

i went a different route. i modifed a heater control panel from a 90-93 accord. i used a fan speed switch from a 94-97 accord and adapted the temperature control **** from the crx panel to work with it. the wiring was a pain but now functions perfectly. unfortunately i didn't document what goes to what and i made quite a few errors along the way.
