I am a newbie for Turbo's. My friend has a Turbo Del Sol and is parting out with his turbo. He has a SOHC VTEC motor. I was thinking of installing his home made turbo in my car. The problem is, I have an D16Y7 Motor, Non-vtech and Automatic on a Honda Civic Sedan LX. I don't know how this will handle, and nobody in Hawaii has attempted this before. It's a TD04ing-H Turbo that's go in my car. Most of the parts are homemade (downpipe, etc.) to fit my car. What do I need to do to make sure this motor doesn't blow with the installment or blow in a couple of months? Or should I just not put in a the turbo at all? The only reason why I'm doing this now over the motor swap is that it's not costing me much. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate it.

If you're having doubts, don't do it until you've done enough research and feel confident. That turbo is a bit large for your motor but it'll work. Just do some more research and figure out what you want to do for fuel management and you're good to go

a td04 is to large? that is off of a 3000gt twin turbo that is a dinky turbo
