the shutter speed is set at one second, or it was the preset "night mode"

thanks for the compliments on the car and house, but look we were leaving and i had the camera in hand so i was like hey, gonna snap off a few so i did, i just got the camera so i'm still learning it, its not like we set up a photo shoot or anything, just some random shots

no one is flaming...the guy was just telling the truth.....when taking night shots you leave your headlights off....you want all incoming lights to be behind you.
thats why the pics were dark.

It's also because the dinky house lights were hardly enough to provide sufficient spot lighting to illuminate the car. Even with a 10 or 15 second shutter, I doubt the camera's CCD would have reacted to the house's lights. Next time find some flourescent lighting in a parking lot somewhere and snap the pics.
